40-Hour Basic Mediation Training

About the course

The 40-Hour Basic Mediation Course is a 5-day (8:30 am – 5:30 pm) training open to people from any professional background. The training focuses on the community-based mediation model. Currently, these trainings are held entirely online, but require participants to remain live and interactive. This course is designed to give individuals the skills and credentials they need to serve as a mediator in the State of Texas. Individuals actively participate in practice mediation following each lecture session, and certificates are provided to participants upon completion of the course.

This course meets the requirements of the the Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures Act Texas Civil Prac. & Rem Code Sec. 154.052. Additionally, this course meets the training standards of the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable and the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association

30-Hour Advanced Family Mediation Training

About the course

Prerequisite: 40-Hour Basic Mediation Training

The 30-hour family training meets the Texas ADR Act requirements for mediators conducting court-ordered family mediation and adhering to the standards set by the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable. The sessions include family law, family dynamics, domestic violence, child development, and ethical and practical considerations in a combined lecture and role-play environment.
